What is a BirthSpace?

Our BirthSpace is a home away from home. That is to say, it offers all of the comforts of home - warmth/temperate space, pure water, healthy food, and safety. And our BirthSpace is much, much more than just the comforts of home.  Our combined years of expertise, skills, and knowledge help create a sacred space for the miracle of birth.  In this special Space, we are able to combine the science and artistry of the ancient profession of midwifery. When normal, physiologic births develop the need for special assistance, we have IV hydration, IV antibiotics, medications for postpartum bleeding, and supplies that support initial newborn transition (ambu bag/oxygen).  Above and beyond this, we offer water therapy, herbal support, TENS unit, sterile water papule injection, birth balls, labor support skills (massage/pressure points), and compassionate, quality care.  We are truly “with women” and families as we walk this journey of pregnancy, birth, and transition to parenthood beside them.  Our emphasis is upon the special human touch that recognizes the uniqueness and beauty of all birth.
